KRK 10s S-Series Subwoofer Overview

The KRK 10s powered studio subwoofer builds upon KRK’s legacy for sonic accuracy and performance. The custom-voiced, glass-aramid woofer delivers tight, defined bass, while the Class-D powered Amplifier dramatically increases transient response, control and punch, allowing you to properly engineer the low-frequency portion of the mix. The four-position selectable crossover makes it easy to adjust the subwoofer setting to your existing monitors. Pairing the 10s with KRK or another studio monitors delivers an optimized listening and mixing experience with extended low end, while the exclusive bypass-control feature provides full range audio to the monitors if needed, without switching off the subwoofer.

KRK’s 10s subwoofer doesn’t just deliver precise bass and a rich feature set: it’s the next dimension in subwoofer performance.

I have bought The KRK 10s2 and I'm still running it in listening to some Reggae Dub at very low volume for 20 -25 hours ( recommended by krk) but I can already tell the quality of the sound is really good as I have 2 other 10" subs to compare it to (Behringer nexxt ks10 designed by mr krk himself and an old mordant short Sw10 ) and I can tell you the new sub is going to be tested thoroughly with some psytrance soon . On the plus side this sub has all the connections balanced and unbalanced stereo XL R , 1/4 " jacks and rca inputs and outputs a polarity switch 0-180 ,ground lift , and standby, and a very nice input sensitivity switch ( a great addition), volume and preset crossover knob are nicely set out and well away from the cable connections which is great and they are fairly accessible from the front , connections knobs and switchers all seem good quality. The sound is loud So far and iv only got it set at about 9 0 clock and that's plenty in an average size room although I will use it later for house parties but can't see you'd ever need to to turn it past 12 o clock ,as the bass clearly can rumble boom or bang whichever you prefer and seems to fill the room in with no dead or dropout spots and not boomy and the bass seems controlled and the whole package seems to be quite musical . On the negative side it has no feet Instead it has hard foam rubber base So I will have to consider fitting my own grommets so I can thread in some spikes so it's not sitting on the floor and I can see through the front port to the back of the speaker and I can see some part of the electronics board and the unpainted Mdf board at the back ( consider blocking the front port when not in use to control dust) And it's made in China . But this is not alway a bad thing if production and inspection is thorough . Get this speaker you won't be disappointed
