Gibson Custom Handpicked 1958 Les Paul Standard Heavy Aged (Mojave Fade) Overview

One of our purchasing team was lucky enough to visit Gibson's Nashville Custom Shop recently. Whilst there we sorted through literally hundreds of Maple tops to select the finest available for a special run of one-off custom-made guitars, of which this is one. It is simply one of the finest reissues available- not only are the Maple tops handpicked but so too are the solid Mahogany backs (for extra-light weight and resonance) and solid one-piece, extra-dark Rosewood fingerboards.

This guitar is finished in Mojave Fade, the Heavy Ageing process is amazing. Aside from the custom features outlined for each individual guitar it is constructed to 2013 Historic specification. This includes one-piece Rosewood fingerboards (all our Handpicked models are extra-dark), KlusonGäó Deluxe machine heads, hot-hide glue neck fit, a Historic Truss Rod assembly with no tubing, accurate body and fingerboard binding colour and new Custom Buckers created in the image of the original PAFs. On this particular guitar the pickups will be uncovered Zebras, also no scratchplate will be installed (but included in the case if you prefer to have one). These pickups are not available separately.
