OK, so keeping in mind I had installed Cubase LE AI on my PC the day before the UR22mk2 was delivered, inside an hour of getting the thing out of the box, and plugging it into my PC I had made a decent recording having imported a backing track into Cubase and performed the vocal track. Fair to say that learning to use Cubase is a separate matter and no doubt some folks will find it more difficult than others. The point I'm trying to make is that the UR22 audio interface will never be in your way, just pug-n-play. Just add headphones, microphone/instrument/whatever and whatever musical talent you have and you're in business. To hand you have individual control of input gain, line-out, headphones and the all important input/DAW balance control. Put simply, the UR22 is a USB PC audio A/D-D/A interface that's built 'perfectly' for the job. I've not much experience with the MIDI I/O, however, I did plug in an old (dumb) MIDI keyboard which was routed (by default) to the Cubase inbuilt instruments... it just works straight out-of-the-box, no fuss. For want of a better phrase 'It does what it says on the tin' so I;m a very happy bunny ;-)
