The Takamine EF740FS-TT is the deep-bodied orchestra model addition to their new TT Series of "Thermal Top" guiitars. By treating the spruce top with high heat in a controlled environment, the sugars and resins change, resulting in a great played-in sound, much like a vintage instrument. This guitar has a great throaty voice due to the solid sapele back and sides, and the 12-fret neck joint. The mahogany neck features a distinctive slot headstock that appeals to musicians wanting a tradionalist look. The ebony fingerboard and simple abalone dots add an understated elegance--as does the the abalone single ring rosette. The neck is a wide 47.5 mm low profile contour, making it great for acoustic blues and fingerstyle. Like the other guitars in the TT Series, it features the stealthy TLD-2 Line Driver preamp and Takamine's legendary Palathetic pickup system.
