Terri Lyne Carrington was one of the first women drummers to reach a level of excellence where gender became irrelevant. While still a child, Carrington developed a reputation in the Boston area by jamming with such jazz luminaries as Dizzy Gillespie, Oscar Peterson and Clark Terry.
